Vinst för Gripen herr mot Lugi

Following last Saturday's win over Copenhagen Business School by 45 to 7 Gripen again reached the 40 point barrier against Lund at home. The final score was 40 to 14 which was a very good win against a team who had previously beaten Gripen in an away match.

This Saturday the team was able to put out a full squad of 22 players which was very pleasing to see. The Squad was a mix of Experience, Youth & Oldboys.

The 1st quarter of the match started well for Gripen with Lund on the defensive in their 22. The pressure finally paid off with a try for Boris B which was converted by Erik A. Following the score however Lund rallied and after some good play scored a try of their own which was converted. Back came Gripen and another try by Boris B made the score 12 to 7 at half time.

The half time talk mainly covered better first time tackles and to concentrate on stepping up at the rucks and mauls. This talk obviously seemed to work as the 2nd half was dominanted by Gripen who scored 28 points in a period of 25 minutes with some good flowing rugby.

Tries were scored by Emil x 2, Calle and Hamad all of which were converted by Erik. Late in the 2nd half Lund scored a consulation try as Gripen began to tire.

The full 22 players were used during the match and all the players aquitted themselves very well indeed. There were many dubutants either playing their first match for Gripen for example Gustavo from Columbia or playing in a new position like Calle and Linus. The youngsters of the team like Chris GP, Calle H & Simon J had a very good match along with the Oldboys like Tommy H, Göran S & Stefan P. There were also strong runs from Emil A, Mattias S and Erik A.

As the Manager of the team it was great to see so many players all producing a good game! Lets hope it continues.
